Hossam Haick is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and an expert in the field of nanotechnology and non-invasive disease diagnosis.

Professor Haick is an Israeli-Christian Arab scientist and engineer. He is the pioneer of the Electronic Nose widely used for sniffing out disease biomarkers. Hossam has made numerous notable contributions to applied research in the fields of Nanotechnology, Nanosensors and Molecular Electronics.

He is the recipient of many international honours and prizes for his achievements. As an active innovative scientist he has attracted the attentions of the world’s billionaires such as Bill Gates and and he has been in collaboration with Bill and Melinda Gates foundation in the diagnostics of diseases.

Hossam Haick has been named one of the World’s Top 35 Young Scientists and last year, he was named one of the 10 Most Promising Young Israeli Scientists and one of the Jerusalem Post’s Young Israelis of the Year.
